We have been playing and participating in the league for 2 years..from 6 teams to 10 teams league. One thing I'm pretty sure the league would like to see are better refs. if we are paying for more and less games! I'm sure ALL players would agree!

Congrats to Wizards for a great fight for the championship. Great props to the reffs for a outstanding calls. The game was the best all year, it was better then the NBA all star game. Cant wait for the next season to start up. Good Luck to the teams that are coming out this summer ill be looking for a championship this year..........

Sax how many teams were there that had intrest in the flag football league. Our team is definitely interested in the league, but we did not contact you about it. I'm sure thats the same way with most other teams. Most people dont get on to your web site to see that kind of info.

No captains informed us of their intentions to play. However, I talked to David about playing our church 6v6 non-contact league instead. I gonna try to get one from mine, First United Hmong Alliance, and hopefully your church can put one together. It would be different from what you're used to but I think different is good too!

i agree with Simon, most teams don't come check the website for information..i hope the other team contact you soon it would be a disappointment if we couldn't do flag football this year..

EMAIL: "I've been hearing conflicting issues regarding how the all star is supposed to go! Originally you guys say for each team to send their representatives (2 players and 1 reserve), then change it up from the "players" meeting to each team pick opposing players from the different teams but no one has any clue how that is being done!"
RESPONSE: We're now asking captains to select their players as the mid-season captain's meeting didn't take place.

It's a two week tournament but again it's a single-elimination tourney so some teams will get eliminated first week. March 5 and 12 are the tourney dates. Please see the revised game schedule for time.

Phillip is right. Mighty Mouse should be be the 2nd seed in their division. They've beaten both Spartans and Legion. Not only that, but they also have the least points against between the 3.

Tiebreakers Rule: If teams are tied and to determine either the division champions or seeding for the tournament we’ll use the following:
1) tiebreaker will be head-to-head between or among the tied teams;
2) least points against in all their league games, and
3) if still tied then strength of schedule; and
4) least points against between the tied teams.
This rule was in place before the season so hope this helps.

Sax - Correct me if I'm wrong but procedure #1 will take into account the head-to-head record of tied clubs. Team with higher winning percentage will supersede team(s) with lower winning percentage. If this is true then to answer your question Andrew, there will not be an actual game to decide ties. To put this into perspective, in the green division; MM, Spartans, and Legion all have an overall record of 3-2. Sax - How will tiebreakers be determined? For example, in the green division, shouldn't Mighty Mouse be runner-up since they hold a better divisional record (3-1) over Spartans (1-1) and Legion (2-2)?

Has anyone looked at the playoff format. How is it that the 5th and 4th seeds play and the 2nd and 3rd seeds are matched up in the first rounds. Shouldn't it be the 5th seed vs the 2nd seed and the 3rd seed vs the 4th seed. I've never seen a format like this in tournament play before.

Top six teams will play in the "Final Four" or Championship bracket and the bottom four will participate in the Consolation. So, the top three from each division will only advance. Two separate brackets for the tournament. Hope this clarify it!

@sax- this i will try to come in early and shoot here and there shots of each team and i will do my best to make a video. It might not be the best but i will try. I just got to get another battery and a 16gb memory.

Although, these new rules do apply here on out. I would like to suggest that if a team is up by 15 points or more let the clock roll which is fine. Dont stop the winning team from doing a full court press, im pretty sure the winning team would use the best judgement and back off. I didn't realize I was cheating for Mighty Mouse by keeping score... Of course I'm rooting for them because my bro and my friends play on that team, and yes I want them to win...but by no means am I going to cheat the score for them to win...I guess it just means I am doing a VERY bad job of cheating for Mighty Mouse, because they are 0 wins and 2 losses... That's why participation is important and teams that didn't have a rep there missed out. Please make sure your team has a member at our next meeting. I saw that last play and that wasn't good sportsmanlike so they need to be held accountable. I don't think Simon would cheat so let's not assume that was the case, okay? And yes we'll expect better sportsmanship and enforce the rules as appropriate. Thanks for the input.

I'm not sure who your board member is since only four teams were in attendance and I'd encourage your team to have one present in our next meeting. Blow out rules are regular part of sports. The rules aren't meant to help the winning team, I would agree, but the losing team. It's not meant to taking anything away from the winning team but to keep the losing team competing which I know is what everyone want.

As a spectator, I would have to disagree on the change of rule number 2. Does it honestly matter if one team is up by 15 points to be considered a loss to the other team? I mean, there aren't always guarenteed in the scores, but to build up the teams stats and each indiviual players stats, they need time on the court. Thank you for the input. Although some would disagree on rule #2 I still think it's consistent with a the philosophy of recreational basketball. I personally don't think as fans we enjoy watching blowout games. It's no fun for the players either, especially by the losing team. We got much to work on in terms of good sportsmanship. So far, I don't think we got dirty players and if there are we'll find them out and exclude them from activities.

All i got to say is that rule #2 is crap, what teams can't play the game the way they want to play? what if people r using the full court press just cuz they like to run and want to get into shape. we all came here to play ball and u guys should let us play. maybe u guys should make another rule and say first team to 40 points win? but rules are rules so whatever. besides how r people going to make the all star if u guys don't let us build r stats.

I can understand you sentiment. Perhaps the rule is meant to face the losing team further humiliation. If you're up by 20 points, for example, why would you full-court press with 10 seconds or 10 minutes to go? But again, if you're winning big anyway what stats are you trying to get or what statement do you want to send? What about good sportsmanship?

I don't think these rules are "stupid" or "crap!" If your basketball board member was at the meeting perhaps he can shed more insights for you why we voted for these changes. Most importantly, I think these rules changes are good for our league and they're consistent with most leagues.

I don't believe that anyone just wants to intentionally hurt another player. The problem is that you get people out there who don't know the game of basketball that well and are out of control with their bodies. That's where injuries come from. I don't know if I would go as far as banning them from the league, but I do know that every time I take the basketball to the rim to expect to be hammered. I'm not sure if we got dirty players in our league but collisions and incidental contacts will occurs. Of course, if anyone is out to hurt someone then yes they'll be expelled. I do completely agree with Simon.Hmong people do not know how to control their bodies and play basketball.They are always hacking when someone drives.Theirs a lot of pushing when boarding and i haven't seen a call for pushing from behind.Fouls that need to be called aren't being called and thats risking the safety of the players.The league says they will not tolerate hard or fragrant fouls but they are allowing those kind of fouls.Last year there was some hard fouls and some fouls that should of… Read More

sax, you guys should contact jesse yang to perhaps help with the speakers and amplifiers for the rest of the season. Whether he can make it out every other weekend or just the postseason that would be great as well. I'll call you with his contact information if you and souli would be interested in that. This past weekend with all new teams that joined is going to be a tough year to see a team go undefeated. Alot of great talent was shown and with the new set up by Sax and his crew was pretty cool and i really like the music and crowd.

What you guys are doing is great for our community and overtime some people will understand or not. 60 bucks is not allot it is a good deal plus who ever is complaining can complain about what they want but they are the one who are not even helping run everything as well as cleaning up after the games are played.

We'll run a fall men's and women's flag football and outdoor volley league this fall. A Labor Day pre-season tournament precedes the regular season. Our registration flyer will be up later today.
