Hmong Colorado Radio (HCR) was founded in February 2002. HCR is a local, non-profit, radio program, broadcast in the Hmong native language. We broadcast through the KGNU Community Radio Station on 88.5 FM in Boulder and 1390 AM in Denver. The missionof HCR is to offer quality Hmong radio programming reaching all generations by providing relevant news, entertainment and by transmitting vital information to the Hmong community at the local and world-wide level through radio and internet access.
The Hmong American Association of Colorado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, preserving, promoting, developing and advocating for the rights and interests of the Hmong community in Colorado, to be successful within the larger community.
Hmong Student Association of Colorado [HSAC] was put together in the Fall of 2006 in hopes that the former association could spread out to the greater community of Colorado. Since then, the organization has been successful in establishing links from Denver campuses with CU-Boulder. If you cant find us on your campus and would like to join in, HSAC invites you to contact us so that we can unite and work together as we move towards educating and developing the Hmong and greater community of Colorado.
Hmong National Development, Inc. (HND) is a national, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to build capacity, develop leadership and empower the Hmong American community. HND works with local and national organizations, public and private entities, and individuals to promote educational opportunities, to increase community capacity, and to develop resources for the well-being, growth, and full participation of Hmong in society.
MISSION Our mission at Asian Avenue magazine is to build bridges of awareness, knowledge and understanding between the diverse Asian Pacific American (APA) communities and the general public through cultural insights, pop culture, news and information. We are the only printed publication in Colorado focused on the APA community and culture.
The mission of L&W Communications and Hmong Times is to publish quality communication products for the Hmong Community. These products are designed to provide: * Valuable information for the Hmong Community. * The tools to promote togetherness in the Hmong Community. * A forum for the Hmong Community. * Information about the Hmong Community for the general community. * The means for businesses, schools and organizations to make a connection with the Hmong Community.
Hmong Today is a bi-monthly Minnesota newspaper of approximately 20,000 copies distributed throughout the mid-west highlighting current local, national and international news and events important to every Hmong.
The Asian Pacific Development Center of Colorado (APDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting the Asian American Pacific Islander community. For 30 years we have been committed to providing culturally appropriate health, mental health, and related services to our communities. We employ a holistic approach to address the total well-being of individuals and families. APDC also understands that there continue to be barriers of language, culture, and generational issues underlying social determinants that impact well-being. So, when we begin to address poverty, education, employment, and access to a plethora of different support systems, we contribute to the empowerment and overall health of everyone. Our vision is for our communities to be healthy and empowered.
CAHEP is a non-profit organization committed to reducing health disparities in the Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) population in Colorado by providing an inclusive framework of community organizations sharing good practices in health care. CAHEP strives to improve the quality of life by promoting culturally appropriate health education, early detection and self-management of diseases. CAHEP serves the uninsured and underinsured AAPI population in Colorado with screenings for chronic and infectious diseases. It has contributed towards the elimination of health disparities while directly reaching out to the high risk target populations
The National Association of Asian American Professionals is a non-profit professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through networking, respecting Asian multiculturalism, and supporting diversity and community service. There are currently over 25 chapters, ventures, and affiliates across the United States and Canada and a growing North American membership of over 3,000.
